Quick start guide
Spotrenewables provides you with a selection of forecasts and actual data for wind and solar power output and temperature. These are short term forecasts in the range of one week ahead, high frequency nowcasts (shortest term forecasts) in the range of 6 hours ahead, and real-time actual power output data with a delay of only a few minutes.
Navigate thru the sections "Data Table", "Data Chart", "Data Analysis" by using the corresponding buttons in the control panel in the upper part of your screen. In the control panel you also choose
- the region,
- an optional filter to get details on a subregion or any other subordinated part of the selected region,
- the time zone, data shall be displayed,
- the data sources wind, solar, or temperature,
- the data types forecast, nowcast, or actuals,
- the date to be picked from the calendar or allways to be automatically up to date,
- the forecast run and
- the run for delta calculation.
Data description
Following data types can be found on spotrenewables (values represent point values for the time [t]):
Forecast: Forecast value as absolute value (power output, temperature)
Actuals: Actual value as absolute value
Load Factor: Power output as percentage of available capacity
Fcast(MIN): Estimated P10 value as absolute value
Fcast(MAX): Estimated P90 value as absolute value
Delta: Change between selected forecast run and selected delta target run as absolute value and, for power output, as percentage of available capacity
Shutdown Warning: Indicates "critical" winds within forecasted area, meaning that wind speed is (partly) close to (or above) turbines' shut down level
Ramp: Indicates strong gradients in power forecast of more than 10% of available capacity within one hour (hourly forecast resolution) or respectively 2.5% of available capacity within 15 minutes (15 minutes forecast resolution); if indication is given, absolute value refers to the time step {t, t-1}
Ø Base: Average hourly value for base period (00:00 - 24:00 at destination)
Ø Peak: Average hourly value for peak period (08:00 - 20:00 at destination)
Ø Off-Peak: Average hourly value for off-peak period (00:00 - 08:00 and 20:00 - 24:00 at destination)
